Immigration Fees Increasing Spring 2007

U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services Director Emilio Gonzalez recently stated that immigration fees for permanent residency and naturalization applications will see a "significant" increase next spring, perhaps as soon as April. USCIS is funded almost entirely by fees that it collects from applicants. Gonzalez stated that increased funding is necessary to keep up with the workload.
