Little To Show for Immigration Debate

The 2006 legislative session comes to a close with little to show despite a year-long debate over immigration.  With deep divides between Republican Senators and Representatives, all the Republican party was able to accomplish on immigration was $1.2 billion worth of fencing on the U.S. - Mexico border.  With no action on the most pressing immigration issues, pressure will continue to build and eventually force Congress to make some real decisions about immigration.
