DHS Reallocates Cuban Visa Numbers

In order to deal with a growing backlog of family-based visa applicants in Cuba, the Department of Homeland Security has announced that it will re-allocate sixty percent of the visas formerly available under the Discretionary Lottery Parole to the family-based visa pool.  This decision adds 7,500 more family-based visas each year, while reducing the Discretionary Lottery visa numbers by the same amount.
